We had contacted NW Natural Gas before moving into our new house and arranged for the purchase of the two gas inserts (Quadrafire) and a new gas cook top (DCS). NW Natural does not do the installs so they recommended Evergreen Gas. I contacted Evergreen and scheduled an appointment.
     Bill showed up right on time and we walked through the house to look at what was needed. I also mentioned to him that the furnace did not appear to be turned on and so he offered to take a look and turn it on for me. He opened the front panel and did a visual inspection where he spotted a crack in the burner and said that is probably why the furnace was turned off. He said it was something they could fix but it was an older unit and not very efficient so I asked him for a quote to replace it. He sent me two quotes that evening, one to install the fireplaces and cook top ($1800) and the other for a new furnace ($5000). I called him back right away and gave him the go ahead on both and asked how soon they could do the furnace as it was starting to get cool in the evenings. He told me that they would put the furnace in priority and ended up scheduling it early the next week. The fireplaces and cook top would wait until after we returned from a scheduled trip. Bill arrived right on schedule with three other employees (and electricians) and they got right to work. They laid down tarps on all of our floors so they did not track any mess. Bill had the electricians do the wiring for the furnace and also had them run power to the fireboxes for the inserts, saving me the cost of a second service call for the electrical. The Evergreen crew got busy removing the old furnace and then started installing the new one. The installation only took a few hours and that included running a new vent pipe through the roof. When they were done I had a brand new furnace and thermostat and warmth in the house. The crew cleaned up everything and hauled it away. Another crew member showed up and spent some time with me setting up the thermostat and explaining how everything worked. The inspector showed up the next morning and signed off on the work. We are back from our trip so today they were back to install the fireplaces and cook top. Once again they showed all kinds of professionalism, everything from spreading tarps to letting me know that they were going on break. I like to watch the progress of work and ask questions and they were not the least bit bothered explaining the details of the install. They completed as much as they could, cleaned up and called for the inspection (tomorrow morning). As soon as the inspector passes the work then they will be back to install the face plates and do their finish work.

We were installing a new gas insert fireplace in our living room. We needed to have a new gas line put in for it and then needed it installed after our fireplace stonework was completed. Bill came out and gave us an estimate for the work which was very reasonable. He and his crew installed the new gas line while the walls were opened up which made things a little easier for them.
     After the rock work was finished he came back and installed the fireplace. Bill is fantastic to work with. He truly cares about his work and does everything he can to make sure the job goes as it should. I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

Bill provided us with a quote on dec 17th. I liked that he not only provided a quote for his work (fire place installation - $950) he also provided a quote for the work L&K Electric did (electrical/gas line work - $250). He then worked with NW Natural to determine when the gas fireplace was available and arranged for pick up. He got the permit, did all the prep work for installation and coordinated his work with with L&K Electric. Bill came by while the inspector was here the next day and finished installation. All the work was done within 2 days which I thought was very quick. It was a pleasure working with Bill.
